I bought this for my mother-in-law for last Christmas and I won the daughter in law pool. She came out from England as a girl and so feels like the letters are about her life and still tells me every time a letter turns up how much she loves getting them. I think it is a lovely idea and getting something in the mail box is even more special now people mostly do emails. I am grateful that I could provide such a meaningful present.

Such a quaint unique gift, my Mother-in-Law now looks forward to visiting her mailbox! Highly recommended.

I am an avid paper-crafter, especially creating journals from scratch, so Doris Mitchell is going to have her very own dedicated handmade journal, containing all her letters, postcards and more. Over the next 12 months, and with the assistance of other talented creators, I will be embellishing Doris' journal with gorgeous 1920's ephemera, tea/coffee dyed papers, doilies, lace etc to create a one-of-a-kind journal dedicated to her adventures. As Doris' journal comes to life, the letter (treasure) box will not be able to contain her journal/s but will hold dear all her extra memorabilia, trinkets and any other precious momentos. I am keeping all the letters in the beautiful box (that is inside the post box it came in). When I have finished receiving all my letters I will then pass the box full of letters on to my granddaughter for her to read>then she can pass on to someone else.

I'm really enjoying the letters and can't wait for the next one to arrive! I settle down with a pot of tea and spend time in a different era..pure bliss.

Such a beautiful romantic feeling when reading the letters and reading the extra information and photos on the tearoom.com.au site. When reading the letters I have a cup of tea and put 1920s Jazz music on low to help take me back. I bought this for MIL for her 70th Birthday. We live more than 15hr from her and she has always enjoyed corresponding withthe grand kid's via handwritten letters throughout the years. Such a wonderful activity. Conducted by a Resident at VMCH Wantirna residential facility. A small group of ladies attend the activity once a month, cups of tea / coffee with a light morning tea is served during the event. To celebrate the success of the activity the group had their last letter read at a historic cottage in Boronia, where the care takers were glad to be involved.
