Letter 11 ~ Allantide

In the 1800 - 1900s in Cornwall, towns held Allan markets in the lead up to Allantide. The markets sold sweet red apples, known as Allan apples. This Cornish festival is the equivalent to Halloween and is celebrated on the night of the 31st October and get's it's name from the Celtic Saint, St. Arlen.
